What is a food allergy?


Food allergy is something that is often mistaken to eatable intolerance, but both are very much different. Allergy is taken to be something that is much more harmful than problems such as food intolerance and food poisoning. Normally such allergies take place in children but slowly it may go away as they reach teenage. But in many cases, such allergy may stay even when the person has reached adult age. In this case, the patient needs to take the help of some medical experts or nutritionists. There are some very good nutritionists in UK who can suggest some minor changes in your diet and can give permanent relief to your problem.

How does allergy happen?

Sometimes, the body refuses to accept some food, and hence, the body starts reacting to it. In many cases, the patient may get triggered by various senses, and in other cases, the body may release certain chemicals that can show physical symptoms on the body. Some of the reactions that take place during such allergies are coughing, itchy eyes, skin reaction, breathing problem, itchy mouth or tongue, nausea, arthritis, tiredness and many others.

Some food items that can be allergic

Though nobody can be sure about which food item can get allergic for whom. But as per research, there are a number of food items traced out that can be allergic to people. These are cow’s milk, peanuts, eggs, soy, almonds and many others. Also sometimes, there are cases that if you are allergic to one particular item, you may get allergic to something related to it such as if you are allergic to prawn, you may also get allergic to shellfish. So, you cannot draw a final line on the food items causing allergy and the food items also depend on the age. Some eatable items can cause allergy to children but may not be the same case with adults.

Food allergy is now a common term that can happen to anyone. But a lot of many people invest time in either researching food items that they can allergic too or the remedies to cure such an allergy. It is good to have knowledge about such issues, but it is always recommended to see a doctor in such case. There are some good and reliable nutritionist in UK who have came out with specific solution for allergy problem due to food with some minor changes in food habit.
